Filippo de Laurentiis' designers are true masters of their knitwear craft, as well as experts in the effortless refinement that Italians are so well known for. This knit polo in merino wool is no exception. Filippo de Laurentiis dubs this particular yarn "Royal Merino" seeing that it is the highest-grade merino yarn on the market. What does that mean? You have to feel it to find out. It is soft and luxurious, while being crisp, clean and smooth at the same time. Compared to the polos we all know with alligators or polo players on their chest, this model has a distinctly more sophisticated air about it. The gathered ribbed cuffs and hem create a tailored shape on the body, and the cut and sewn collar is tailored in the same way as a dress shirt. We love it for its versatility. It is a perfect way to make a suit feel a couple of notches more casual (in place of a dress shirt and tie), or to make a pair of jeans or chinos feel a bit more dressed up.

FABRIC AND ORIGIN:

  • COLOR: Anthracite - a heathered charcoal gray
  • CONTENT: 100% Merino Wool
  • WEIGHT: 16 gauge knit. This is a very fine merino yarn producing a lightweight, yet tightly knit polo.
  • TEXTURE: Very smooth. Merino wool, compared to other types of wool, has a cleaner surface texture (less fuzz / loft) giving it a sharp, crisp, refined look. This particular merino, dubbed "Royal Merino" by the maker, is extremely high quality and thus feels incredibly soft, while having superior durability and shape retention.
  • ORIGIN: Made in Pescara, Italy

  • 3-button placket with genuine mother-of-pearl buttons in smoke gray color.
  • Cut and sewn shirt style collar with a semi-spread shape.
  • Ribbed cuffs and hem.

CARE:

  • Instructions from the manufacturer: Handwash in cold or lukewarm water (max 30 degrees Celsius) with delicate garments dedicated products, keeping the garment inside out and without wringing it. Rinse with a lot of water, dab the garment with towels to take away the most part of the remaining water, and lay flat to dry.
